Dot Abyss Characters: Complete List

Characters enter your roster through gacha, story milestones, beginner missions and launch banners. At release there are exactly 48 playable units split 19 / 13 / 16 by rarity. SSR is the ceiling — limited pickups Wendy and Vira, ultra-rare Luxnova five-tuples at 0.06%, and three beginner-mission picks (Hymena, Magnolia, Emily) are the main availability traps to track.

• SSR (19) — top rarity; most define your defense core and idle clear speed.
• SR (13) — bridge units for early 10-slot formations; several stay relevant (Rosa as a front tank, for example).
• R (16) — cheap fillers for exploration and story until SSR/SR coverage improves.

The story is set in the Tresria region, where three great nations stood at war until the Great Abyss appeared. Characters belong to one of five forces — faction tags flavour the roster and sometimes hint at role clusters:

Where to browse your roster and discover new units inside Dot Abyss:

• Formation screen — Frontline Base → Formation. Shows owned units by stance with level, element and emblem icons.
• Character list / album — unlocked early in the story; greyed entries are units you have seen but not yet recruited.
• Gacha banners — Premium, pickup and Select SSR pools list exactly which characters are in rate-up; check before spending gems.
• Tavern roster — any girl who joins you appears here for shift assignment and bond progression.

Before investing materials, read the availability notes in the tables below — they prevent expensive mistakes on units you cannot realistically duplicate or replace.

• Limited pickup (rose chip) — Wendy and Vira; likely leave the banner pool after launch pickup ends.
• 0.06% / not in tutorial redraw (gold chip) — Electra, Pico, Laveria, Sylvia, Myrtille; jackpots, not reroll targets.
• Beginner mission pick (glow chip) — Hymena, Magnolia, Emily; free fourth SSR from the 7-day track.
• Not in tutorial gacha — some SR units (Belisa, Marina, Sophia) never appear in the tutorial redraw pool.

Three layers define how a character plays in auto-battle:

• Elements (6) — Fire, Water, Earth, Light, Dark and Neutral. Elemental matchups matter when picking a defense team against each Calamity.
• Stances (3) — Front absorbs damage, Back deals it, Assist amplifies it. Up to 10 units deploy across these lines in auto-battle.
• Emblems (2) — Passion (情熱) units charge their own resource by acting; Impact (衝撃) units rely on stacks generated by hits, dodges or allies. Build your skill economy around them.

Not sure who to raise first? Cross-reference this database with the launch tier list — Wendy, Vira, Electra, Pico and Nina anchor most optimized 10-unit defense setups. Focus five units in week one instead of spreading EXP across the full roster.

SSR is the highest rarity. Note the availability flags: two launch units are limited, five Luxnova units are ultra-rare 0.06% drops, and three can be claimed from beginner missions.

SR units fill out your 10-slot formation early on, and several (like tank Rosa) remain useful even after your SSR core forms.

R units are early-game placeholders, but they cost little to field and keep your idle exploration teams full while you grow.
